October 15, 2026
For the past three years, Trick or Treat on the Ave ran on a weekday afternoon. In 2023 that was a Tuesday, in 2024 a Thursday, and in 2025 a Friday. Each time the Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce held the same window, 3:30 to 6:00 p.m., which on a school day leaves about two and a half hours between dismissal and dinner.
In 2026, October 31 is a Saturday. The Chamber has kept the same 3:30 start, and the Queen Anne Farmers Market has filled the morning. The market's regular Thursday season ended October 8, and it is coming back for a special Saturday market that closes at 3:00 p.m., half an hour before trick-or-treating begins on the same stretch of the Avenue. Two organizations that usually run on different days have set their schedules to hand off from one to the other, and the result is the longest Halloween the top of the hill has seen in years.
| Time | What | Where |
|---|---|---|
| 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. | Queen Anne Farmers Market Halloween Harvest Market | W Crockett St and Queen Anne Ave N |
| 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. | Trick or Treat on the Ave | Queen Anne Ave N |
| 4:45 p.m. | Seattle Thrillers Dance Group performance | Queen Anne Towne Square, 1920 Queen Anne Ave N |
| After the Thrillers | Costume contest | Queen Anne Towne Square |
Seattle's Child lists the market at 1935 Queen Anne Avenue North. The Thrillers stage at Towne Square is at 1920. A family can spend the whole day inside one block of addresses and never move the car.
This is not a regular market day. QAFM, which describes itself as Seattle's only independent farmers market, runs Thursdays from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. during its season. For 2026 that season ran May 28 through October 8. On top of that, the market scheduled three Saturday markets for 2026, each from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The first was a Spring Preview Day on May 9. The Halloween Harvest Market on October 31 is the second, and the Thanksgiving Harvest Market on November 21 is the last.
The market's event listing on Seattle's Child gives the plan. There will be winter squash, apples, pears, root vegetables and other fall produce from local farms and food producers. Shoppers are invited to come in costume and walk the market with a warm beverage. A pumpkin patch will hand out free pumpkins from Sidhu Farms, limited to one per family. The event is free and open to all ages.
The same listing ends by telling families to keep going with Trick or Treat on the Ave "immediately after the market." So the handoff is something the market wrote into its own announcement, not a coincidence of two calendars.
For planning, the pumpkin limit is the detail that counts. The listing sets a limit of one per family and gives no total supply. The market opens at 10:00 and doesn't close until 3:00, so a household that wants a pumpkin is better off arriving earlier than later.
The half hour between the market closing and trick-or-treating starting is when the block changes over. Then the Chamber's event begins.
In past years the Chamber described the event as Upper Queen Anne merchants dressing up, decorating their storefronts and handing out treats. In 2023, 2024 and 2025 it ran along Queen Anne Avenue North between Galer Street and McGraw Street. The 2026 listings from the Chamber and the Queen Anne Book Company both say "Queen Anne Ave" without naming endpoints. Galer to McGraw is the past pattern. This year's exact stretch isn't published yet.
The Chamber is recruiting crossing monitors for the afternoon. Its volunteer page confirms Saturday, October 31, lists shifts within the 3:30 to 6:00 window, and asks volunteers to meet at Umpqua Bank, 1630 Queen Anne Ave N. A free Saturday afternoon also gives more neighbors a chance to sign up than a Tuesday ever did.
The Seattle Thrillers Dance Group performs at Queen Anne Towne Square, 1920 Queen Anne Ave, at 4:45. The costume contest follows right after the performance.
The timing is close to the middle of the trick-or-treat window. That means families walking the Avenue from either end can reach the square around the same time. The square sits across the Avenue from the market's corner, so the morning's gathering spot and the afternoon's are a street-width apart.
October 31 is the center of a busier stretch on the hill. Seattle Parks and Recreation's 2026 Halloween roundup, published October 7, lists a Tot Carnival at Queen Anne Community Center on Thursday, October 29, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. It's a weekday morning event for the youngest costume-wearers, two days before the weekend.
The Queen Anne Book Company's events calendar lists both the Harvest Market and Trick or Treat on the Ave on October 31. It shows no separate Halloween story time that day.
On the coffee side, The Infatuation reviewed Emme in September 2026. Emme is a matcha-focused tea and coffee cafe at 1417 Queen Anne Ave N that spent two years as a pop-up before opening its storefront. It's a new option on the Avenue for the warm drink the market suggests carrying around.
On Saturday, November 7, the stretch between McGraw and Galer holds a very different event. The Queen Anne Fall Wine Walk is run by the Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce with Seattle Uncorked. The details:
The $10 gap between advance and door prices matters less than whether door tickets will exist at all. The Chamber says the last Wine Walk sold more tickets than any before it and filled up so early that people were turned away. If you plan on November 7, buy in advance.
The farmers market's last Saturday of the year, the Thanksgiving Harvest Market, runs Saturday, November 21, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
| Date | Event | Window |
|---|---|---|
| Thu, Oct 29 | Tot Carnival, Queen Anne Community Center | 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. |
| Sat, Oct 31 | Halloween Harvest Market | 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. |
| Sat, Oct 31 | Trick or Treat on the Ave | 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. |
| Sat, Nov 7 | Queen Anne Fall Wine Walk | 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. |
| Sat, Nov 21 | Thanksgiving Harvest Market | 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. |
Over 24 days the calendar carries five community events, four of them on Saturdays, and all three of those Saturdays put people on the same stretch of Queen Anne Avenue North. When Halloween fell on a Tuesday, the Avenue got one weekday afternoon. This year the calendar gives it a whole Saturday, and the market and the Chamber have planned it so one event leads straight into the next.
I've spent decades watching how the blocks around Queen Anne Avenue fill on days like October 31. If you own a home within walking distance of Crockett Street and want to know how that walkability shows up in today's pricing, Seattle Premier Properties can help. Request a Complimentary Home Valuation, and I'll give you a figure grounded in this block, not the citywide median.
